Description:
The study assesses the quality and accuracy of Problem List management at the NIH’s Clinical Center. Abnormal renal function, quantified by serum creatinine, was chosen as an objective finding with acute and long-term significance. We evaluated the extent to which this finding was included in clinical documentation in the EMR.
Objectives:
Assess the quality of documentation in the EMR at NIH's Clinical Center
Identify ways to develop an informatics methodology to evaluate the quality and accuracy of documentation throughout an inpatient stay
Determine the degree to which we can recognize and document adverse clinical outcomes
